They’re made with just two ingredients you probably already have in your fridge, making them a breeze to whip up in minutes.

  • 2 cups chopped seedless watermelon
  • 15 tablespoons (just under 1 cup) plain, unsweetened yogurt without xylitol

How to Make Watermelon & Yogurt Frozen Dog Treats

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Blend Watermelon: In a blender or food processor, puree the watermelon chunks until you have a smooth consistency.
  2. Prepare the Yogurt Base: Spoon 1 tablespoon of yogurt into each individual cell of your ice cube tray or popsicle mold.
  3. Fill with Watermelon: Pour the pureed watermelon into each cell, filling them almost to the top.
  4. Freeze: Place the tray or mold in the freezer and freeze until the pupsicles are completely solid, which typically takes around 4 hours.
  5. Unmold and Store: Gently pop the pupsicles out of the mold. For easier removal, briefly run the tray under warm water. Transfer the pupsicles to an airtight container or freezer bag and store them in the freezer until you’re ready to serve them.

A Note for Dog Owners if You’re Making This Recipe

While watermelon and yogurt are generally safe for dogs, some may have trouble digesting dairy. If your dog is sensitive to dairy, feel free to leave out the yogurt altogether. Always consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns about your dog’s diet.

Supervision is key when giving your dog frozen treats, especially these pupsicles, as they can stain carpets if left to melt.

IMPORTANT: This recipe uses plain, unsweetened yogurt. NEVER use yogurt sweetened with xylitol, as it’s extremely poisonous to dogs.(ref)
