  • 1 ½ pounds flank steak
  • ¼ cups cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp minced garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cups soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • ¾ cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

  • In a slow cooker, combine the sesame oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, diced onion, and red pepper flakes. Stir to mix the ingredients well. Add the cornstarch-coated flank steak to the slow cooker and stir again, making sure the steak pieces are evenly coated in the sauce.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-5 hours until the beef is cooked through and tender.
  • Once the cooking time is complete, taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed. If desired, serve the slow-cooker Korean Beef over rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
