Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 pound fresh green or wax beans trimmed
  • 1 cup radishes thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts toasted

Instructions

  • Place a large skillet on the stove and set the heat to medium-high. Allow the skillet to heat up for a minute or two.
  • Add the tablespoon of butter to the hot skillet. Swirl the pan to coat the bottom evenly with the melted butter.
  • Once the butter is melted and bubbling, carefully add the trimmed green beans to the skillet. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, stir the beans to coat them with the butter. Cook the beans for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are crisp-tender and bright green.
  • Add the thinly sliced radishes to the skillet with the green beans. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the radishes are tender but still slightly crisp.
  • Sprinkle the sugar and salt over the sautéed green beans and radishes. Stir well to distribute the seasonings evenly throughout the vegetables.
  • Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top of the sautéed vegetables. Give the dish a final stir to incorporate the nuts.
  • Transfer the sautéed radishes and green beans to a serving dish. Serve the vegetables hot as a delicious and unique side dish alongside your favorite main course.
