Prevent your screen from going dark
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 275°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Mix the raw cane sugar (if using) and ground cinnamon together in a small bowl until evenly combined.
Arrange the thinly sliced apples in a single layer across the parchment-lined baking sheets. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the apple slices.
Place the baking sheets in the oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until the apples are dried and lightly browned.
Once baked, remove the apple slices from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for approximately 15 minutes to allow them to crisp up further.
Transfer the cooled apple chips to an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature and enjoyed within a week.
Notes
For a chewier texture similar to fruit leather, reduce the baking time slightly.
These chips are great for snacking, and the cinnamon helps reduce inflammation while adding a warm, sweet flavor profile.
For variety, try mixing in a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom with the cinnamon.
