Ingredients
  

Basic Version (1½-Pound Loaf)

  • ½ cup milk
  • cup pure pumpkin purée
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 large egg
  • tbsp butter softened and cut into pieces
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • ¾ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp yeast

2-Pound Loaf

  • cup milk
  • ½ cup pure pumpkin purée
  • cup water
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp butter softened and cut into pieces
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ¾ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • tsp yeast

Instructions
 

  • Add ingredients to bread pan in the order listed for your chosen loaf size: begin with milk and end with yeast.
  • Insert the pan into your bread machine.
  • Select the Basic/White setting on your bread machine.
  • Choose the appropriate loaf size (1½-pound or 2-pound).
  • Press Start and let the machine do the work.
  • When finished, carefully remove the pan and transfer the bread to a wire rack.
  • Allow the loaf to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • This recipe is lighter than traditional quick pumpkin breads due to the yeast, making it ideal for toasting.
  • For a richer spice profile, increase pumpkin pie spice by ¼ tsp.
