Equipment

  • Microwave
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs halved
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 large egg whisked
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the cheese mixture by combining mozzarella and cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 1 minute, stir, and microwave for another 30 seconds until fully melted. Stir again to blend.
  • Prepare the dough by adding the whisked egg and almond flour to the melted cheese mixture. Mix thoroughly to form a smooth, pliable dough.
  • Season the dough by incorporating salt and pepper, then stir again until well combined.
  • Roll out the dough between two greased sheets of parchment paper, flattening it evenly.
  • Cut the dough into small 2x2-inch squares. Place a halved hot dog on each piece and roll the dough around it to enclose it.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and crisp.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning on top before baking.
  • Serve with mustard or sugar-free ketchup for a complete low-carb snack.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven for the best texture.
