High-Protein Customizable Popcorn

This high-protein dessert popcorn is a fun and nutritious twist on traditional movie-night snacks.
Instead of butter-laden popcorn, this version uses air-popped kernels coated in a protein-packed sweet blend with optional add-ins like candy, nuts, or dried fruit for extra flavor and crunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sweetener of choice
  • 5 to 6 cups air-popped popcorn
  • Cooking oil spray
  • ½ cup add-ins of choice candy pieces, nuts, dried fruit, seeds, etc.

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix the protein powder, sea salt, and granulated sweetener until evenly combined.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the air-popped popcorn. Lightly coat it with cooking spray, stirring gently to help the spray distribute evenly.
  • Sprinkle the protein powder mixture over the popcorn. Secure a lid on the bowl or use a large bag, then shake well until the popcorn is fully coated.
  • Mix in your preferred add-ins for extra sweetness or texture. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • For a savory variation, replace the protein powder with nutritional yeast or peanut flour.
  • Store leftover popcorn in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
