Equipment

  • Small knife
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 12 Medjool dates
  • cup almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate roughly chopped
  • Flaked sea salt to taste

Variations:

  • Peanut Butter Version: Substitute almond butter with peanut butter.
  • Cashew Butter Version: Use cashew butter for a creamy twist.
  • Sunflower Butter Version: Perfect for nut-free diets, swap with sunflower seed butter.

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dates: Use a small knife to slice each date lengthwise, but avoid cutting them entirely in half. Remove the pit and gently open up the cavity using your fingers.
  • Stuff the Dates: Spoon about 1 teaspoon of almond butter into the cavity of each date. For less messy handling, you can chill the almond butter in the fridge for 30 minutes before using.
  • Add Toppings: Sprinkle chopped dark chocolate over the almond butter and finish with a pinch of flaked sea salt on each stuffed date.
  • Serve or Store: Enjoy immediately, or store the stuffed dates in an airtight container. For a firmer texture, refrigerate; for a softer, gooier texture, keep them at room temperature.
