Fig & Ricotta Toast with Walnuts & Honey for DASH Diet
This heart-healthy fig and ricotta toast is a perfect addition to a DASH diet meal plan. The fiber-rich figs, protein-packed ricotta, and nutrient-dense walnuts provide a balanced combination of flavors and textures, making it an excellent choice for a nutritious snack or light breakfast.
Evenly spread 2 tablespoons of ricotta cheese over each piece of toasted whole-wheat bread, pressing down lightly to create a stable base.
Arrange 4 fig halves on top of the ricotta layer, pressing them gently into the cheese to prevent slipping.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of chopped walnuts over each slice of toast.
Finish by drizzling ½ teaspoon of honey over each serving. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Substitutions: If fresh figs are unavailable, apricots make a great alternative. You can also swap honey for a light drizzle of pure maple syrup.Additional Toppings: For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or a few chia seeds.
