Fig & Ricotta Toast with Walnuts & Honey for DASH Diet

Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices whole-wheat bread toasted
  • ¼ cup ricotta cheese
  • 4 figs halved
  • 2 tablespoons walnuts chopped
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions
 

  • Evenly spread 2 tablespoons of ricotta cheese over each piece of toasted whole-wheat bread, pressing down lightly to create a stable base.
  • Arrange 4 fig halves on top of the ricotta layer, pressing them gently into the cheese to prevent slipping.
  • Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of chopped walnuts over each slice of toast.
  • Finish by drizzling ½ teaspoon of honey over each serving. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Substitutions: If fresh figs are unavailable, apricots make a great alternative. You can also swap honey for a light drizzle of pure maple syrup.
Additional Toppings: For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or a few chia seeds.
