Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 thin slices English cucumber
  • 6 to 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces vodka or gin
  • 3 to 4 ounces cold club soda
  • Ice
  • Optional: 1/2 ounce simple syrup if you prefer slightly sweeter
  • Optional garnish: cucumber ribbon mint sprig, lime wedge

Instructions

  • Add cucumber slices and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker or sturdy glass.
  • Gently muddle to release juices and aroma (do not over-muddle mint).
  • Add lime juice, vodka or gin, and ice.
  • Shake briefly for 8–10 seconds.
  • Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with cold club soda.
  • Stir gently once to combine.
  • Garnish with a cucumber ribbon or fresh mint sprig.

Notes

If you prefer a sweeter drink, add 1/2 ounce simple syrup before shaking.
For a smoother texture, double strain to remove cucumber pulp.
Lightly slap mint between your palms before garnishing to release aroma.
For a stronger herbal note, use gin instead of vodka.
