Add ingredients to your bread machine's baking pan in the order listed—starting with milk and ending with yeast.
Select the appropriate setting on your machine: “Whole Grain” or “Basic/White,” depending on your preferred crust and density.
Choose the correct loaf size (1½- or 2-pound) based on your ingredient list.
Start the machine and let it run through the full cycle.
When the bread is done, carefully remove the loaf from the pan.
Transfer it to a wire rack and let cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Quick-cooking oats are preferred as they absorb more easily during baking, producing a softer texture. You may substitute with regular rolled oats, but expect a heartier crumb.
For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before adding to the machine.
