1980s Monster Cookies Recipe

These oversized, flavor-packed cookies embody the indulgent spirit of the 1980s.
With a chewy base of oats, peanut butter, and brown sugar, they’re loaded with chocolate chips, M&M’s, and chopped nuts for a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crunchy textures.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M’s chocolate candies
  • 1 cup chopped salted peanuts or pecans

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda.
  • Add the oats, chocolate chips, M&M’s, and chopped nuts, stirring until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Use an ice cream scoop to drop 3 to 4 tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing each cookie at least 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the cookies are golden and set.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet briefly before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a smaller version of these cookies, use a rounded tablespoon or a cookie scoop and bake them for 8 to 10 minutes instead.
