If you love the taste of a juicy burger but want a fun and easy way to serve a crowd, this recipe is perfect .
Inspired by the flavors of a classic In-N-Out burger, these crunchy sheet pan sliders take everything you love about a great burger and transform it into a simple, shareable dish.
The best part? They’re loaded with crispy potato chips for a surprising crunch that makes them completely irresistible.
A Simple & Crowd-Pleasing Dish

These sliders are made from one giant burger patty that bakes in the oven, making them an excellent option for busy hosts.
Instead of flipping individual patties, you get a perfectly cooked layer of seasoned beef that stays juicy and tender.
A homemade burger sauce, melted cheese, and crunchy chips add layers of flavor and texture, while Hawaiian rolls bring the perfect balance of sweetness.
Since everything is cooked in the oven, there’s no need to babysit a grill or stovetop. This makes them a great option for game days, parties, or casual get-togethers.
Once baked, they can be sliced and served easily, making them a stress-free way to feed a group.
Why Chips on a Burger?
Adding potato chips to a burger might sound unusual, but it’s a genius move. The crispy texture enhances every bite, providing a contrast to the tender beef and soft buns.
It’s the perfect way to add crunch without the mess of deep frying. Plus, using a high-quality kettle chip ensures they hold up without becoming soggy.
For even more flavor, try using different chip varieties. Barbecue chips add a smoky sweetness, salt, and vinegar bring a tangy kick, and jalapeño chips offer just the right amount of heat.
The Secret to the Best Burger Sauce
One of the standout features of this easy recipe is the homemade burger sauce. It’s a simple combination of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, and a pinch of salt.
This sauce mimics the flavors of popular fast-food burger spreads, adding a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet element that perfectly complements the beef.
To customize the sauce, you can mix in a dash of hot sauce, smoked paprika, or even finely chopped pickles for an extra tangy bite.
It’s a versatile condiment that pairs well with fries, sandwiches, or even as a dip for chips.
Easy Substitutions & Variations

If you want to switch things up, there are plenty of ways to modify this recipe while keeping it just as delicious.
- Make it vegetarian – Swap out the ground beef for a plant-based alternative, or use roasted mushrooms for a savory, umami-packed filling.
- Go low-carb – Skip the buns and serve the baked burger patty between large lettuce leaves or as a filling for stuffed bell peppers.
- Try different cheeses – While Monterey Jack or American cheese work well, you can experiment with cheddar, pepper jack, or even smoked gouda for a unique twist.
- Use deli meat instead of beef – If you want to skip cooking altogether, try using thinly sliced roast beef in place of the burger patty. This shortcut makes the recipe even easier while still delivering that satisfying burger flavor.
Perfect for Meal Prep & Leftovers
One of the best things about these sliders is how well they hold up for leftovers. If you have extra sliders, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
When you’re ready to eat, reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to bring back the crispiness of the chips and the gooeyness of the cheese..
For meal prep, you can prepare the burger sauce in advance, shape the beef patty ahead of time, and even slice the buns before baking. This makes assembling the sliders quick and hassle-free when you’re ready to cook.

Easy Crunchy Sheet Pan Sliders Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef preferably 90/10
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt plus extra as needed
- ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sweet relish or finely chopped pickles
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 12-pack King’s Hawaiian Original rolls
- 8 slices Monterey Jack or American cheese
- 2 cups plain kettle-cooked potato chips such as Kettle Brand
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep the Baking Sheet: Set the oven to 375°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Form & Bake the Burger Patty: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix by hand until well combined. Spread the beef mixture into a large rectangle, slightly larger than the 12-pack of rolls, on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 12 minutes or until firm to the touch.
- Prepare the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, relish, ketchup, mustard, and a pinch of salt to create the burger sauce.
- Slice the Rolls: Using a serrated knife, slice the entire pack of rolls crosswise to create a single top and bottom piece. Try to keep the cuts as even as possible.
- Assemble the Sliders: Place the bottom section of the rolls on a clean piece of parchment paper. Evenly spread the burger sauce across the cut surface. Arrange 4 slices of cheese over the sauce, tearing them if needed for an even layer.
- Layer the Burger Patty: Once the burger patty is fully cooked, remove it from the oven but keep the oven on. Use paper towels to blot any excess grease, then transfer the patty onto the layer of cheese. Discard the used parchment paper from the baking sheet and wipe away any remaining grease.
- Finish Assembling: Add the remaining 4 slices of cheese on top of the burger patty, then sprinkle the crushed potato chips over it. Place the top half of the rolls over everything to complete the slider assembly.
- Bake & Serve: Carefully lift the parchment paper to transfer the entire assembled mega-slider back onto the baking sheet. Cover it loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for another 2 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the bun tops are lightly golden. Let the sliders cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
